Julien Sprecher, the brand’s creator, described the challenge perfectly: “One of the biggest challenges was to create a fragrance that is fresh and delicate, but at the same time very powerful and expressive. Valaya is reminiscent of the feel of cotton against the skin. A cocoon-like perfume that is sensual and elegant at the same time. A white perfume full of contrasts that is delicate yet incredibly alluring.” It opens with a soft, luminous brightness of bergamot and pink pepper — clean, slightly spiced, and immediately skin-close — before deepening into a beautifully composed heart of iris, peony, and jasmine. The iris is the fragrance’s defining note: cool, powdery, and deeply elegant, it is the note that gives Valaya its most distinctive, most luminous character — the scent of fresh cotton rendered in floral form. The dry-down is warm, soft, and deeply intimate: white musk, sandalwood, and cashmeran creating a velvety, skin-close warmth that is simultaneously airy and deeply sensual — a base that feels less like a fragrance and more like the most beautiful version of your own skin.
